The COMET 65 is an Ocean Racer manufactured by Comar Yachts in the Sport (S) and Deck House (DH) versions, designed by Bruce Farr and that follows the tradition of the large, classic Maxi yachts. It was designed for long sailings and fast cruises, it guarantees an excellent response at the helm thanks to its aspect ratio design with a 2.85 mt keel with torpedo shaped bulb weighing about 10,800 KGs, 45% of the total weight! Impressive performance on vawes for a 24-tonnes hull, reinforced in Kevlar with upper works in Airex sandwich (rigid but light and very well insulated). The handcrafted, well maintained interiors are made in American cherry wood and they are characterized by very wide and spacious environments. This unit has 4 cabins and 3 WCs, with stern master cabin. In 2018 it underwent a general refit, with a new teak deck, total repainting of the deckhouse and the transom, new rod rigging. In 2016, the sea water inlets were replaced, and new batteries were installed, while in 2009 the blue hull was repainted, and new sails were added. This Comet 65 S is also equipped with generator, water maker, air conditioning and electric winches.

With more than 5,000 units manufactured between the ‘70s and the ‘90s, COMAR YACHTS shipyard was at the forefront of the Italian boat-building scenario. The shipyard started by building sailboats between 7mt and 14mt designed by Finot studio. From the ‘80s we find several models designed by D. Peterson, Bruce Farr, Sergio Lupoli and Vallicelli studio. The latter also designed the Genesi 43, a cruiser with innovative designing and building choices, characterized by a central engine, as well as elegant and innovative deck design that highlights side decks. From 1996 on, the shipyard changed ownership and produced more than 1,200 units, all characterized by handicraft production aimed at quality constructions, vinyl ester resins and external finishing in customized fine woods. The efforts of the new owners were rewarded by several international recognitions: Yacht of the Year 20. View the technical brochure of the Comet 65
