The SUN ODYSSEY 42i has the same layout as the previous models manufactured by Jeanneau, however the distinctive element is the letter “i” that refers to the material used for the construction of the deckhouse, made in Prisma infuision process. Marc Lombard’s design is focused on a wedge-shaped hull with stern sections as wide as the full beam, smooth edges and narrow appendages. The shape of the deck is fit for cruise, by forwarding handling to the cockpit and by inserting the mainsail traveler on the deckhouse. This cruiser has a large cockpit, while the spaces below deck are optimally exploited. The PERFORMANCE version of the Sun Odyssey 42i differs from the standard one because it is equipped with a tall rig mast, Prestige sails with tri-radial cut design in Mylar/Taffeta, jib furler with dual raceway and some changes to the keel, in order to make it lighter and deeper, thus allowing the boat to sail faster but with the same comfort as the standard version. This unit is ready to sail, with a 2018 genoa, a 2017 mainsail and B&G GPS installed in 2017.

JEANNEAU history began in 1957 in Les Herbiers, France. The first sailboat production started in 1964 with the Alizé, that achieved a huge success. In the ‘70s, the shipyard became a true leader in designing and manufacturing livable sailboats, with the amazing Love Love and Sangria, while in the ‘80s Jeanneau began its adventure in powerboat racing alongside the company Transports Graveleau, and it also created the JTA workshop (Jeanneau Techniques Avancées) for the development of hi-tech racing prototypes. In the 90s, Jeanneau joined the Bénéteau Group, that also owns brands like CNB for yachts between 60′ and 94′, Lagoon for catamarans, as well as Montecarlo Yachts for motor yachts between 65′ and 105′.
