Leonard 72 – Designed for power and elegance
Architect Carlo Trezzi and Engineer Aldo Gatti designed the slender and sinuous lines of Leonard 72, enhanced by an unusual metallized black color chosen by the owner for this single hull. They recall the look and feel of an elegant panther. The deck of the Leonard 72 is slender, while the curved side windows and the hard top make for a compact profile. At bow there is a generous sundeck, while at both sides there are two wide gangways leading to the cockpit, conceived in the original project with an additional aft sundeck, a settee to portboard and a comfortable cabinet to starboard.
Going into the lounge of the Leonard 72 from the cockpit, you find a modern accurate room with a sophisticated entertainment systems, perfect for relax and conversation. The living area is very well lit, thanks to wide windows and a transparent sliding door. The control station, equipped with three seats, is in an ideal position in the middle. Chairs are height-adjustable, and slide. Visibility is excellent, and the hip control station has top-notch accessories. The entrance underdeck is equipped with two different stairs.
Here we find the area reserved to the crew, with a cabin with bunk beds and a separate bathroom, and the sleeping area of the Leonard 72. The luxury beam cabin is unusually placed at bow. Guests have at their disposal two comfortable cabins amidships, all equipped with ample showers. The well-lit and comfortable rooms allow eight people to stay onboard even for long cruises. Abaft there is a garage for tender. In terms of performance, two new generation MAN Turbodiesel engines, with 1550 HP each, work together with the surface Arneson transmissions to push the Leonard 72 to remarkable top and cruise speeds.
