The Akhir 22 S is a sports version of the 22, both designed by Pier Luigi Spadolini, of which the S version has the same livability and comfort, but with much more aggressiveness and aerodynamic properties. The hull of the Akhir 22 S is the same as the base model, with planing keel. The Flying bridge is the most characterizing area of the Akhir 22 S, with a roll bar in a more backward position and the descending profile of the wheelhouse and windows. The teak-clad cockpit is very spacious and it is protected by the flying bridge. Inside, the saloon is very bright and carefully planned. The redistribution Akhir 22 S indoor spaces, compared to the 22, stands out thanks to the clear division of crew area (stern) and guest area, with a stern master cabin furnished with a double bed, two wardrobes and a full-width beauty room.

In 1972, the Pisa-based Cantiere Navale Italiano a Porta a Mare, a shipyard in business since the ‘50s, was renamed “Cantieri di Pisa”. In this new context the AKHIR was born: a 16 meters cruiser with strict and essential lines entirely designed by Pier Luigi Spadolini, that will later design all Akhir-branded models. The success of the AKHIR 16, and the desire to respond to more specialized demands, led to the production, in 1976, of the AKHIR 19 and AKHIR 20, two yachts that were similar to the 1972 model, except for a different positioning and a wider interior distribution. They were followed by the Akhir 30 in 1977, a 30-mt that confirmed Pier Luigi Spadolini’s designing skills as a reference point for the entire industry. In 1979 the Akhir 18 was introduced, with a very innovative design, while in 1986 the Akhir 22 S was created, as a sports version of the 22. In 1990, the Akhir 40 was introduced, another masterpiece designed by Spadolini. In the following decades, from 1995 to more recent years, larger and larger models were created, such as: Akhir 85, Akhir 105, Akhir 110, Akhir 135, Akhir 145 and Akhir 153. Currently, the shipyard has produced about 600 boats, mostly motor yachts but also a few One-Off sailing yachts, such as: Tyrsa (1957, 20-mt ketch), Capitano Black/RO-RO (1958-59), VAL II (1959) e KALEA (former VAL III), a 21-mt ketch launched in 1965.
