History

    The foundation of the Luhrs shipyard dates back to the 19th century, when German immigrant Henry Luhrs started a boat repair business in New Jersey. Already in the 1960s, the sons John and Warren built over a thousand motor boats a year. In the late 80s the company started to have financial problems, from which it managed to emerge towards the early 90s with a new denomination, Hunter Marine, and the designs of Rob Mazza of the Hunter 29.5 and its larger successor, 336. Hunter made use of Glenn Henderson's collaboration until 2010 and, at this time, introduced numerous market innovations. In 2012, Hunter Marine was sold to David Marlow, owner of Marlow Yachts, and was renamed to Marlow-Hunter LLC.   Among the models produced under the Luhrs denomination we find the Luhrs 290, 300, 320, 350, 380 and 41, almost all motor boats designed for sport fishing.
