The passion for discovery and the willing to sail around the world bring to light great ideas that become true. From one of this idea, the Amel shipyard was founded

    The Amel shipyard has been specialized for 50 years in sailing boats’ construction. Amel’s boats are light but solid, perfect for long sailing journeys.     These are some of the main features of the Amel’s production:
  • external structure in fiberglass with biaxial fabrics;
  • fully resined hull bottom;
  • stratified hull-deck junction;
  • watertight bulkheads.
 

The story of the brand

  Amel shipyard was founded by Henry Amel in La Rochelle (France) in 1968. His philosophy was to build boats designed in every detail to sail around the world, even for people who are not very experienced sailors.
The first boats were characterized by the ketch rig. Among these successful historical models, we find:
  • Santorin 46 ( manufactured from 1989 to 1997);
  • Super Maramu 2000 (from 1998 to 2005) ;
  • Amel 54 (from 2005 to 2011);
  • Fango 33;
  • Sharki 39;
  • Euros 41;
  • Mango 52.
 

The brand’s new production

 
All the new sailing boats produced by Amel Yachts have impeccable finishes and first quality’s materials. The three new models on the market are: Amel 50; Amel 55 and Amel 64. Amel 50, for example, is the first sloop in the French shipyard’s history, after a long production of boats characterized by the ketch rig.   The highlights of all the Amel boats are:
  • helmsman’s seat protected by a rigid structure that also covers part of the cockpit, from where we can access the engine room, isolated from the other spaces;
  • a wide range of standard features
  • ease of sailing even by only one person.
