The SUN ODYSSEY 51, with her second Owner since 1996, has undergone meticulous maintenance and upgrade work. The most recent interventions, in 2022, include: new Sinteak deck and new electric windlass; in 2021 interior refit with new upholsteries, cladding and indoor/outdoor mattresses, bathrooms repainted in like-new condition. In 2020 new batteries, new jib on track; in 2019 seacocks replacement. In 2018, electric system, tanks and bilge were overhauled; 2 solar panels installed on an arch, new mainsail with three reef points and a new holder for the Bimini-Top. In 2016, the engine was disembarked and overhauled, whereas antifouling treatment was completed in 2012. The SUN ODYSSEY 51 is also very well equipped, with: stern pole, electric winch, twin wheels, sail locker/crew, swim ladder, crew cabin with 2 berths and separate WC, Hi-Fi system with outdoor speakers, Easy Bag..

The SUN ODYSSEY 51 is an iconic boat manufactured by the famous French builder Jeanneau and designed by Bruce Farr. She is considered the first model of a new generation of sailboats carrying several innovations on deck and interior, such as: twin wheels, an easy access to the sea through the swim platform, a large cockpit with table, large sundeck areas both on deckhouse and at bow, interior with teak finish with 4 cabins, 4 bathrooms and crew cabin. Her construction is also solid, to the point that she is still very appreciated by several ocean skippers.

Cantiere JEANNEAU

JEANNEAU history began in 1957 in Les Herbiers, France. The first sailboat production started in 1964 with the Alizé, that achieved a huge success. In the ‘70s, the shipyard became a true leader in designing and manufacturing livable sailboats, with the amazing Love Love and Sangria, while in the ‘80s Jeanneau began its adventure in powerboat racing alongside the company Transports Graveleau, and it also created the JTA workshop (Jeanneau Techniques Avancées) for the development of hi-tech racing prototypes. Prestige line was born in 1989 and it marked the entrance of Jeanneau in the luxury Motor Yacht industry, with more than 2,500 Prestige models produced so far. In the 90s, Jeanneau joined the Bénéteau Group, that also owns brands like:
  • CNB for yachts between 60' and 94',
  • Lagoon for catamarans,
  • Montecarlo Yachts for motor yachts between 65' and 105'.
This is the time of Sun-Fast cruiser-racer line, with the launch of the Sun Fast 52, while after 2000 the shipyard further consolidated its success with Sun Odyssey models. In 2014, Jeanneau introduced its boat larger than 60 feet, the Jeanneau 64. Nowadays, Jeanneau has extended its influence to the market of boats with inboard engines, with Leader, Velasco and NC lines.
