Modello NAUTICAT 44

Nauticat 44

The Nauticat 44 was one of Siltala’s flagship models. The Finnish shipyard built it from a design of W. Aarnipalo and it was in production between the beginning of the 70s to the first half of the 80s. It is a Nordic-looking motorsailer designed for those owners who are both sporty and discerning; “sporty” because they want to sail throughout the year, and not only in August, and “discerning” because they are aware that the Mediterranean too can suddenly become “harder” than any other Nordic sea.The Nauticat 44 has the same shapes and space layout has the 38’, and it allows for long cruises both in cold and warm seas, thanks to its large sail area, the power of its engine, its great water and fuel range, as well as its space and comfortable interiors. Just like all Nauticat boats, the Nauticat 44 too offers a high level of construction quality, great handling capability and easy manoeuvring.

History

Siltala Nauticat was a Finnish shipyard founded in the late 1950s by Pentti Siltala in south-western Finland, about 40 km from the city of Turku. The first model produced was the Nauticat 33 designed by the Finnish engineer W. Aarnipalo, with the typical solid Nordic lines and suitable for navigation in the stormy waters of the Baltic, to which the Nauticat 44 and 36 followed. In 1975 it was the turn of the Nauticat 38, the result of international cooperation. The last model produced by the shipyard before closing was the Nauticat 525, launched in 2010. The shipyard became a world leader in the production of motorsailers and manufactured more than 2500 yachts ranging in size from 33 to 51 feet. The shipyard was renamed Nauticat in 2005, which is the name given to the models produced. These are renowned for their quality of workmanship, technique and seaworthiness. Among the main models we find the Nauticat 32, 33, 331, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, 43, 44, 52 and Nauticat 512. In 2018 it closed its doors due to economic problems.
