The COMET 45s “WHIMSEA” is an elegant Fast Cruiser with 3-blades swivel thruster, teak deck, carbon bowsprit, 2 electric winches, Harken jib furler and track, carbon gangway, B&G electronics with 2 repeaters on the deckhouse, Spacecraft mast with oversize mast caps, seats on stern pulpit, retractable davit for tender, bow master cabin with private bathroom and shower booth, foldaway kitchen on the side, 2 fridges, cherry interior and light grey alcantara upholsteries. In 2021 a new Cod 0, easy bag and a new Bimini were added, and a new full-batten mainsail in 2020. “WHIMSEA” is also equipped with: indoor/outdoor GPS, swim ladder, flush sea cocks, third bed in aft cabin

Modello COMET 45S

The Comet 45S, designed by Andrea Vallicelli, has elegant and fast lines and it is included between the 51 and 41 of Comar yachts’ sporty line: boats for long cruises and comfortable livability, but at the same time perfect for the Mediterranean and suitable for all sailing conditions. Vertical starboard bow, open transom and low deckhouse. The hull and deck are in sandwich glass, with epoxy-vinyl resin for an excellent compromise between mechanical performance, waterproofing, easy processing and costs. There are a lot of structures, hull-resined reinforcing floors and spars, as well as steel reinforcements for the chain plates. Interiors are very flexible and available in several versions. In spite of a very sporty deck plan, the cabins of the Comet 45S are extremely livable, while the dinette offers a warm and rich look and feel thanks to the meticulous craftsmanship of the American cherrywood. The dinette has a raised floor that allows to better exploit the width of the boat, while the kitchen is located along the side.

Cantiere COMAR YACHTS

With more than 5,000 units manufactured between the ‘70s and the ‘90s, COMAR YACHTS shipyard was at the forefront of the Italian boat-building scenario.The shipyard started by building sailboats between 7mt and 14mt designed by Finot studio.From the ‘80s we find several models designed by D. Peterson, Bruce Farr, Sergio Lupoli and Vallicelli studio.The latter also designed the Genesi 43, a cruiser with innovative designing and building choices, characterized by a central engine, as well as elegant and innovative deck design that highlights side decks.From 1996 on, the shipyard changed ownership and produced more than 1,200 units (from C21 monotype to the carbon-made Comet 103'), all characterized by handicraft production aimed at quality constructions, vinyl ester resins and external finishing in customized fine woods.The efforts of the new owners were rewarded by several international recognitions:
  • Yacht of the Year 2005 and 2006;
  • Best Design Award in 2006;
  • The Italian ORCi Championship in 2006;
  • The World ORCi Championship in 2008 (in Greece).
The shipyard also manufactured motor boat with Clanship brand.
